Job Summary: Good Energy Collective is a policy research organization. We're building the progressive case for nuclear energy as an essential part of the broader climate change agenda and working to align the clean energy space with environmental justice and sustainability goals. We seek a full-time Community Engagement Lead who will help plan, execute, and evaluate our organization’s community engagement and outreach activities on nuclear energy issues. The Community Engagement Lead will work primarily on a two-year project to build capacity in geographically dispersed communities toward the eventual siting of nuclear waste storage facilities. This role will plan and lead community-level conversations and workshops as we work to develop guidelines for a consent-based process that would enable the successful and equitable siting of a potential future facility. By conducting direct local engagements, making resources and information available to community members, and assessing the impacts of these interventions, the Community Engagement Lead will work with the Good Energy team and our partners to develop and distill best practices to identify and engage with interested communities. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated work experience engaging with and coordinating among community-based organizations. Experience communicating clean energy, climate change, or environmental justice issues is an asset. We welcome applicants from non-traditional backgrounds.

We seek a policy analyst to conduct one or more research projects at the intersection of advanced nuclear energy and environmental justice. The policy analyst will research, write, and present their findings and contribute toward the organization’s growing body of knowledge and policy recommendations. They will educate key stakeholders, including policymakers, on their findings and grow their professional networks by collaborating with external partners.
This policy analyst will play a critical role in the execution of our work to advance the consent-based siting of domestic nuclear waste. The analyst will help identify and engage with interested communities around a consent-based process that would enable the successful and equitable siting of a potential future spent nuclear fuel facility. The ideal candidate will have a professional or educational background in one or more of the following:

The Spill Prevention, Preparedness & Response (SPPR) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Project Specialist (Environmental Planner 3) position. This position can be located in any of the following offices: Our Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA or our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

In this position, you will coordinate and develop the program’s review of State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and transboundary oil handling related projects. Through this work, you will assist the unit in identifying emerging transboundary issues and trends for future research projects. This is a unique position in the Spills Program, as the nature of the work changes as projects conclude and new projects emerge. You will gain a well-rounded understanding of the program’s policies, regulations, and priorities and will serve as a project manager for program-wide projects, provide rulemaking process or lead support, and participate on an Incident Management Team, further developing your skills in the Incident Command System.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:
HDR is looking to add a talented Senior Strategic Communications Coordinator to our growing program to lead construction communications in the transportation, energy, and water markets in the Midwest. As a communications professional working within an engineering company, this role will continue to build and foster internal relationships with HDR project managers and staff. You will also have the desire to engage with technical staff and quick technical comprehension in order to translate technical knowledge into accessible and understandable content.
This role will lead or support the development and implementation of construction communications plans (target audience strategy, media relations and tracking, collateral material development, overall activity schedule, information lines, contact databases, and reporting) to inform communities in a positive and meaningful way. They will also handle the coordination and leadership of production/planning teams, lead concept development, writing, editing, and assisting in graphic coordination of outreach materials such as email and alert communications, surveys, newsletters, websites, handouts, videos, advertisements, and press releases. You will be expected to lead the facilitation of virtual or in-person public meetings, hearings, open houses, focus groups, workshops, advisory committees, and other stakeholder meetings, as well as coordinate project-related data gathering and political analysis and monitoring. You will assist with the development and management of political outreach strategies and manage social media campaigns. This will involve media coordination/management, including public notices and press releases, media monitoring/tracking for project documentation, and the management of external service providers including sub-consultants.
