Chapter News

IAP2 USA chapters are adjusting to the changing landscape. Our 11 chapters and emerging chapters are partnering with one another and with the regional office to provide support, training, and connection to the P2 community. They are making a difference in their own unique way.

This partnership positioned IAP2 USA on a path to integrate diversity and inclusion as part of the IAP2 culture. With the development of the DEI committee, the IAP2 USA Board of Directors embraced an initiative to ensure IAP2 leadership and training was inclusive and reflected our communities. Much of this stemmed from chapter requests that we look at our lack of inclusion within the organization and take steps to remedy the issue. Board training, sharing the USA initiative with IAP2 International and development of a multi-part online course were the first steps. DEI will be an integral ingredient in the new IAP2 USA strategic plan.

Here are just a few of the chapter events over the past few months. Joint online events by the Oakland and San Francisco chapters brought together more than 50 people for a shared event. Puget Sound chapter developed a grant program that provides $250 to small community organizations for training and coaching on how to use on line tools to connect with their communities. Chapter board members volunteer to train and coach the nonprofit staff and volunteers.

San Francisco’s launch event was a success and they are planning a happy hour to share how everyone is adapting to working remotely and with clients.
