Join us for a walk along one of Charlotte’s most popular greenways and learn how the community rallied around this once neglected creek to transform it into one of the most beautiful waterways in our Queen City. For decades, parts of Little Sugar Creek were hidden under concrete. Now, pavement and parking lots that covered the creek have been removed. The creek banks have been carefully reshaped. Native trees and grasses hold soil in place and water quality and wildlife habitat has improved. This insider’s tour will highlight public support for the stream restoration project, unique creek and greenway features, community benefits, and how residents partner continue to partner with Storm Water Services today to protect Little Sugar Creek for future generations.
