IAP2 Northeast Chapter – November 2024 Idea Hub: Community Engagement and Local Democracy

Join IAP2 Northeast for our next Idea Hub, a conversation focused on community engagement as a tool for strengthening local democracy, on Friday, November 22, at 3:00 PM.

Joining us will be Jocelyn Solis, an organizer with La Comunidad, who will talk with us about how meaningful engagement between local government, community organizations, and the constituents each serve fosters greater participation in the civic square and ultimately leads to better outcomes for projects and initiatives.

About the Presenter
Jocelyn Solis is a Community Organizer for La Comunidad, Inc., a non-profit organization serving the Latino-American community based in and around Everett, Massachusetts. La Comunidad offers or links members of the community to services including adult education, immigration needs, and income tax assistance. Additionally, the organization works within the community through activism related to environmental, economic, social, cultural, and political organizing. Since 1999, La Comunidad has assisted approximately 50,000 families through its various services.
