Two 3 hour sessions, December 1 & 2
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4 p.m. EDT
Public participation practitioners understand the need to involve others in decision-making. It builds connections, increases buy-in and reduces blind spots. But too often, once that input has been given, it enters a “black box” of mystery and, seemingly magically, out pops a decision that may appear to bear little resemblance to the advice received. This workshop will help participants plan and facilitate effective group collaboration by being explicit about how decisions will be made, by whom, and based on what considerations, before actually making them. Learn tips and techniques for designing and leading collective decision-making processes that are not only more transparent and defensible, but ultimately quicker and wiser too.
