Once again this month, we're excited to present the winners of the 2017 Core Values Awards, presented last fall at the North American Conference in Denver.
The Liard Aboriginal Women's Society (LAWS) in Watson Lake, Yukon, in partnership with Beringia Community Planning, won the IAP2 Canada award for Indigenous Engagement. LAWS and Beringia set up a process to address a growing problem of assaults on Indigenous women and girls in the community, which brought together Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth to raise awareness and work through solutions.
