The USA Core Values Award for Creativity and Innovation went to a project that set out to bridge the gap between rural and urban/suburban thinking on climate change. The Jefferson Center and the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy set up the Rural Climate Dialogues to see how rural communities might pro-actively respond to environmental challenges. From Canada, the Richmond, BC, School District, working with Rockandel and Associates, won the IAP2 Canada award for Respect for Diversity, Inclusion and Culture for its approach to a budget shortfall that threatened to force some schools to close. (Watch their Core Values Award video here.)
