Leah Jaramillo, President of IAP2 USA as well as Vice President of Somers-Jaramillo & Associates, is flying from Utah to share with us the exciting vision and opportunities available through IAP2 USA. There is no better place to find career development resources or support for advancing the vision for P2 in your workplace or local government. Come for yourself or bring your agency’s decisionmakers who will learn of the benefits available for whole organizations, companies, and governments.

Jennifer Trotter who leads Public Involvement and Supplier Diversity for Burns & McDonnell in Southern California will offer a view into that company’s fantastic public engagement efforts in our region.

IAP2 USA’s Greater Los Angeles Chapter, the local representation of IAP2 USA in Southern California was first convened by Kit Cole, then the Director of Public Involvement and Education for Southern California Edison and presently the principal of Kit Cole Consulting, in June 2015. The group gathers colleagues for the sake of education and building relationships with others who value community engagement work in both the public and private sectors. Practitioners, conveners, and those who value the impact of public participation practices are welcome to join in our meetings.

Burns & McDonnell (Event Sponsor) is a national engineering, environmental, and construction management firm that provides comprehensive Stakeholder Management services using best practices for some of the largest and most challenging capital projects in the country. From streetcars to bike and pedestrian paths to utility transmission line, Burns & McDonnell strategically plans, facilitates, and implements both traditional and innovative forms of community engagement during all stages of project development and implementation. Our project experience ranges from simply informing the public about upcoming street improvements to implementing comprehensive public involvement campaigns for billion dollar infrastructure projects.

The International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) USA leads, advances, and advocates for best practices in public participation; that includes decision-oriented, objective-driven, and values-based public participation design.
