Who are you, and what do you do?
I’m an Account Manager and Senior Writer for Cook + Schmid, a public relations, marketing and community outreach firm based in San Diego. I manage a variety of accounts for the firm, from public agencies like the County of San Diego, Port of San Diego and City of San Diego, as well as provide oversight for private companies including the Bali Hai, Allylix, Tom Ham’s Lighthouse and others. I am a former journalist with more than 20 years of experience directing and creating compelling content for technical, business/trade and consumer publications before crossing over to Public Relations, Public Affairs and Marketing Communications (the dark side according to my editorial friends).
Michigan’s Muskegon-area teens take health matters and community issues into their own hands, planning a highly successful event to empower their peers and uplift their community.
Giving young people stronger civic roles, as in the Orton Family Foundation’s Heart and Soul planning processes results in fewer young people leaving their communities once they reach adulthood.

Intermountain Chapter hosts Day Conference: Re-Imagining the Public Meeting
We are excited to share with you that the Intermountain Chapter will be hosting their first ever day conference in St. George, UT. They have 3 great speakers: Kristy Dalton, Timothy Tait, and Jessica Pickul.
