The Neighborhood Matching Grants (NMG) program is the City’s premier funding opportunity for resident-led placemaking and community improvement initiatives. The program has served to build neighborhood capacity, allow neighborhoods to self-determine improvement priorities, stimulate partnerships between the City and community groups, and reinvest in low and moderate income neighborhoods since 1992. The program has funded over 1,000 projects to date including community branding, signage, bike and pedestrian improvements, community gardens, programs, public art and more. The tour is an opportunity to view a selection of recently completed neighborhood projects funded through the program. M/
Neighborhood leaders will meet the group along the way to talk about their projects. City of Charlotte staff will be onboard to provide an area overview and present complementary programs intended to resource and inspire neighborhoods to demonstrate neighborhood love through proactive civic engagement. The tour will conclude by 4:00 p.m.
