Presenter Bios:

Anne Brooks has been involved in planning, engineering, and construction projects throughout Alaska since 1974. As a civil engineer and business owner since 1993, Anne’s experience enhances her current focus on P2. Anne interfaces with the public to understand their concerns and works with project teams to incorporate and mitigate concerns.

Camden Yehle delivers logistics and communication for transportation projects. She has a background in community organizing, event planning, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. IAP2 provided her training in public involvement. Her approach increases transparency, reduces controversy, and builds public confidence in solutions critical to successful projects.

Doise Miers works as the Community Outreach Manager for the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, a regional transportation planning agency based in Austin, Texas, where she manages, creates, and implements public involvement and community outreach programs.

Judy Pfeifer is Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer at Metrolinx. She oversees all aspects of Metrolinx’s communications strategy, and is responsible for overseeing corporate reputation, communications planning, internal and external communications, media relations, as well as government, community and stakeholder engagement. Previously, she was Vice President at Hill + Knowlton.

Jackie Nirenberg is Community Involvement Manager at Capital Metro, where she designs, manages and directs community involvement and public participation programs. Previously, she managed public engagement campaigns for a variety of clients as a Senior Consultant at Group Solutions RJW and was a Lecturer at the University of Texas Pan American.

Vince Verlaan of MODUS is an engagement and facilitation specialist with 20+ years’ experience designing and delivering high-quality and action-oriented input processes across diverse sectors; he also teaches the practice of engagement and trains others in best practices.

Vincent Gonsalves has been working in public service for 15+ years at both the municipal and regional level implementing a wide range of public participation projects, from highly contentious to others having strong community support, he volunteers at Vantage Point, an organization focused on equipping not-for-profit leaders.
