Explore the heart of San Antonio through a dynamic walking tour that highlights the powerful role of public engagement in shaping the city’s public art, history and urban landscape. This guided experience will take you through downtown corridors where murals, sculptures, and installations reflect the diverse voices and histories of the community. Along the way, you’ll stop at key sites that tell stories of how planning and development processes—rooted in collaboration and public input—have brought these spaces to life. From revitalized plazas to culturally significant corridors, this tour showcases how public participation has informed not just the art, but the identity of the city itself. With each stop, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for how engagement has transformed San Antonio into a living canvas of community expression. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your curiosity— as we stroll through 1.75 miles of Downtown San Antonio and end at the historic Alamo.
