Re-elected in 2018, Los Angeles County Assessor Jeffrey Prang leads the largest public assessment agency in the United States. The Assessor’s Office is responsible for determining the value of all taxable property in the County, which is used to determine the amount of property tax owed.

When first elected in 2014, Assessor Pang inherited an agency rocked by scandal and faced a crisis in public trust. Out of both desire and necessity, Assessor Prang prioritized rebuilding both internal and external confidence. Using this moment of upheaval to launch a robust public outreach and education program, he and his team have significantly raised awareness of the office and improved customer service.

Assessor Prang previously served nearly 18 years as a City Council member in West Hollywood, including four terms as Mayor, and has over 25 years working in public affairs and public administration in Los Angeles County.
