Traci Ethridge is the Community Affairs Senior Manager for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations department of the City of Charlotte in N.C. She is responsible for developing strategies and engagement programs that strengthen the Charlotte community. Some of her focus areas include diversity, equity and inclusion, community dialogues, police-community relations and outreach. She has extensive experience working with government agencies and non-profits in both Virginia and North Carolina. Throughout her career, Traci has held various leadership positions that empowered her to build and impact teams in a positive way.
Traci has a strong passion for community engagement and is involved in key efforts to enhance public participation between local government and the community. Working for a city that is experiencing tremendous growth, she recognizes the importance of adapting to the changing landscape and community needs around being involved in the decision-making process. One of Traci’s focuses as a board member will be to explore the unique opportunity to better connect municipalities with IAP2 USA.
Prior to joining the IAP2 USA Board of Directors in 2018, Traci served on the IAP2 USA communications committee and co-presented a session at the 2017 IAP2 North American conference. She is also a contributor to the University of North Carolina School of Government Community Engagement Learning Exchange, a platform for public sector practitioners to connect with the community. Traci holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from St. Augustine’s University.
