Who are the panelists?
Kyle Bozentko is executive-director of the Jefferson Center in St Paul, MN, and member of the IAP2 USA Board. His specialty areas include public opinion research and health and economic policy; he earned his Master's from the Boston University School of Theology.
Anne Carroll is a member of the IAP2 USA Board of Directors, and for the past 30 years, her company, Carroll, Franck and Associates, has provided inclusive public engagement and strategic planning consulting to public, private and non-profit organizations. She obtained her Master of Planning in public affairs from the University of Minnesota with a concentration in policy process and strategic decision-making.
Bruce Gilbert is the president of IAP2 Canada and is currently Assistant Deputy Minister in the Office of Public Engagement at the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. His previous experience has been in diverse areas of engagement, from grassroots organizations and NGOs to students and industry leaders. He obtained his PhD from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
Anne Harding is past-president of IAP2 Canada. In her work life, she’s a Senior Advisor of Stakeholder & Aboriginal Relations at Suncor Energy in Calgary, where she’s worked for the last 8 years. In all, she’s spent the past 10 years in P2, primarily in Aboriginal Relations, and in 2012, she received her MA in Corporate Aborginal Relations. Her specialty is in energy development.
David Hovde is president of both IAP2 USA and the IAP2 USA Midwest Chapter. He is Local Relations Consultant with American Transmission Co., which builds, owns, operates and maintains the high-voltage electric transmission system in most of Wisconsin, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and small portions of Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa. David’s work involves “stakeholders’ of all kinds – primarily in the context of transmission line projects.
Brenda Pichette is with P2 Facilitators, and her work covers a variety of facilitation and training situations. She has been Senior Public Outreach Specialist for Health Canada’s Contaminated Sites Public Involvement Team.
John Poynton, Ph.D., serves as the Executive Director of Organizational Development for St. Vrain Valley Schools in Longmont, Colorado. Poynton is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and Colorado State Graduate School of Education. In 2014, St. Vrain Valley Schools received IAP2's USA and International Research Project of the Year Awards.
Vince Verlaan is an engagement and facilitation specialist, P2 practitioner, public speaker, and former board member of IAP2 BC. He is part of a 10 person sustainability-focused firm (Modus Planning, Design & Engagement) that works across Western Canada with a range of clients, and he developed/teaches the Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement program at Simon Fraser University.
Carol Ann Wolfgang is currently Director of Orion Sustainable Performance Solutions, Inc. providing training, coaching, advising on best management practices. For nearly 10 years, she has facilitated meetings including charrettes with public agencies and stakeholders for nearly ten years and she specializes in mediation and alternative dispute resolution and collaborative negotiation, with an interest in strategic planning for natural resources/environmental issues
