Ensuring that an organization has a "culture of engagement" is increasingly important, as more people from diverse walks of life are realizing that they can and should play a role in issues that affect them.

It takes commitment, persistence and patience, and the Nova Scotia Health Authority was named 2020 International Organization of the Year for the work it's done in developing and nurturing the culture across the agency. It took five years to build that culture, and the lessons-learned apply to any organization, in any field.
