Hosted by Metro Office of Public Engagement
Whether your family has lived in the Portland metropolitan region for generations, you’re one of the 80,000 new residents that moved here in the last decade, or a visitor enjoying the many cultural, recreational and dining amenities, the quality of life we enjoy has been the result of decisions we have made as a region. The tour will examine how the nation’s first directly elected regional government stays connected to the public, from recycling programs to the zoo and parks. Metro’s Office of Public Engagement is exploring new and innovative ways to develop inclusive engagement strategies to ensure policy decisions reflect all communities in our growing and changing region. Join us for an afternoon of interactive discussions and activities around making engagement authentic and inclusive to build trust, and strengthen the relationship between community members and decision-makers. Meet in the Lobby of the Lloyd Center Double Tree for a short walk or MAX ride to Metro. (Maximum 30 people)
